Practical Ways to Promote Yourself More, Plus a Challenge!
This episode is all about promoting yourself more! Now, I am the first to raise my hand and say that I struggle with this. I know it can easily feel like you've talked about your offer a million times, but in reality, much of our audience hasn't even seen it or heard us talking about it. So today we're issuing a challenge, and going over practical ways to promote yourself more!
We're going to talk about how to share your old blog posts, your new blog posts, your opt-ins, and grow your email list. We'll talk about your reels and different ways to repurpose and re-share all the magical content that you're already creating. Let's all do this together and start to grow and gain more visibility! Ready? Let's dive in!

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE TOPICS DISCUSSED IN THIS EPISODE:
"If you're making all of this content for your audience that's designed to help them in some way, whether it's inspiration, a recipe, a tutorial, motivation, anything at all - you created it for your audience, right? If you're not sharing it with your audience, aren't you kind of doing them a disservice? By not letting them know that it exists and that that is there for them to use as a resource?"
Discussed in this episode...
I just had a friend the other day ask me "Bree when was the last time you talked about Shift? I haven't seen you mention anything." And I just kind of froze on the call because this is something I struggle with as well. Maybe we feel like we might be oversharing, or sometimes we don't really know what to say. But the reality is that only a small percentage of people are actually seeing the things that we share.
A Four-Week Challenge!
I want to challenge you guys to join me for the next four weeks, to create a marketing plan. Now, I'm sharing this with you guys to hold myself accountable, and also to give you inspiration and motivation to promote your own stuff!
So for the next four weeks, I'm committing to sharing (on Instagram and in our Facebook group) the following things:
- Sharing about Shift every single week
- I am going to talk about PBS every single week
- Share about the podcast, weekly
- Some more behind the scenes things with you guys via Instagram stories
- I'm going to share an opt-in each week
- And lastly, every single week I'm going to talk about an old post (maybe an old blog post, an old podcast, or something on social media) that I want to re-share and resurface.
If you follow us on social media, you know that we're constantly putting out content to help you guys level up. Everything that I just said that I'm going to start sharing weekly is in addition to the regular to promote myself more! So just like your regular content is not going to stop just because you're sharing a link to an old blog post, or because you're sharing your opt-in every single week. This is just additional content, that is probably pushing you outside of your comfort zone a little bit. But we're all in this together, and it's going to be worth it! Here are some things we all can promote more.
Blog posts
You are out there pouring so much energy into amazing blog posts, only to share them a small handful of times! What I'm often seeing is that we publish a great blog post, and then only share it once. Maybe that first week we share it on social media once or twice. Perhaps send an email out about it, and then post it to Pinterest. All of this is great, but that doesn't have to be it! You've just spent hours creating this amazing content, and unless someone goes through the archives of your blog they won't see it! This is an enormous marketing loss!
We all have content we can re-share. My challenge to you, for the next four weeks, is to create a strategy for re-sharing these pieces of content to promote yourself more! You can share it through reels, an email, or through your Facebook group. You can pitch this content as subject matter for a podcast interview or other PR outlets. We spend so much time on these blog posts! Let's get out there and make sure they aren't going to waste! How can you create a system for re-sharing blog posts every single quarter?
Opt-ins and Growing Your List!
If you don't have an opt-in already, then I want you to add that to your list of things to work on over the next four weeks. That's your homework for this section! If you already have an opt-in and are using it to grow your list, chances are that you're not promoting it enough. I want to challenge you over the next four weeks, to talk about that opt-in every single week. This is also on my list of things to do over the next four weeks, so we'll be doing it together.
Reels
Let's talk about the video content that you're pushing out over on Instagram or maybe on TikTok. Where else can you share that video content? Facebook is a great place to start, because if you do so you just might get tagged by Facebook to be in their Creator account. It may add a little bit of an extra income stream because Facebook wants you to post reels.
You can also share them in your email! Do a simple screenshot with a link over to that reel. You can do a roundup of your favorite reels on your blog or on a post. You could also grab one that accompanies a blog post you're releasing and link to it there! Something to remember; you can always go back and add to your blog posts. So if you made a reel about that blog post, go and add it back in. An easy way to do this is to capture a screenshot and then embed it with a link on your blog.
The bottom line here...
..Is that there are so many ways that we can be talking about our stuff more! Ultimately, what is our goal here? Our goal is to increase your brand visibility and get you more page views. Our goal is to grow your audience, grow your community, and grow your engagement. Let's do this together! I will be going Live in the Facebook community for the next four weeks, sharing updates on this four-week challenge, and more tips and resources with you guys! So be sure to come join me there!
