Self-care, when you're a blogger and content creator, can be tough! Especially when we're comparing ourselves to others, working too hard, and exhausted! In this episode, Bree chats with Self-Care Coach and Wellness Consultant, Cassie Butcher. In this episode, they talk about why self-care and wellness are so important for women, and talk specifically to entrepreneurial women who are content creators!

I've been depriving myself of sleep over here, which is probably going to make me grumpy at my next meeting, which is probably gonna make me miss out on probably a good opportunity that I could have secured if I got some sleep and wasn't cranky. So you really have to tend to yourself first, before you can even properly tend to any other aspects of your life"

What is Self-Care?
Something that Cassie tells her audience is that everyone defines "self-care" differently. We all may think we define it the same, but it's truly so different for everyone! The way she likes to define it for herself is it's the things that she's doing or saying or involving herself in, that really support her well-being. This could be mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, or financial well-being!
Sometimes this may look like simply putting her phone on "do not disturb". Many people think it has to be some big grand gesture. This is one of the unhelpful generalizations or assumptions! Self-care does have to mean taking a week of vacation, it can be as simple as creating one hour a week that you promise to dedicate to yourself.
This one hour a week is something that Cassie practices, and it really helps! It makes her feel more comfortable in her skin. It makes her trust herself more. This one hour a week gives her the feeling that she really is looking out for herself.
Why is it Important That we, as Entrepreneurs, Prioritize Self-Care?
The idea of content creation is currently expanding, and it's trending. And it's forever changing! If you're not prioritizing your self-care, you can get caught up in the loop of "oh my gosh, I don't know how to do this trend". You get caught in comparison and self-doubt. It's easy to get so caught up in what everyone else is trying to tell you to do, that you lose the passion behind what you're doing.
When it comes to self-care and wellness, remember that before you're an entrepreneur, or content creator, or anything else, you're a human being with natural needs! You have to cater to those things first, before catering to anything else. If you don't tend to yourself, you're not even going to be able to show up in your business the way that you want to!
