What CEO Tasks are you Putting Off?
We all have those things that we know are going to take some time, or aren't really our jam, that we put off. So I want you to write down a list of what those things may be. Go ahead and pull out your calendar, or your shiny new planner, and write down a couple CEO days per month. They don't have to be an entire day, but you want to give yourself a good chunk of time. And they need to be at least twice a month.
Here are a few things we take care of during these sessions:
One is accounting. Some of us aren't the type of people who just do accounting and keep up with it every week. It would be nice, but it's just not something we all do! But once a month, if not twice, we can sit down and catch up on it!
You could also take an overview of your systems and organization. Anything you've been putting off or need to revamp, this is your time to do it. Maybe you need a new system for creating content, or reaching out to brands, or shopping for your audience. Now is when you can assess and adjust!
Sometimes we just need to pause and review. Your CEO days are a great time to look at your overall goals, address any strategy, make notes of what you're supposed to do this quarter and whether you're making progress on it.
These are so important for business growth!!, right? These things often get pushed to the back burner, because honestly, they don't have to be visited too often. You don't want to do accounting every day. You don't want to do systems and organizations every day. You don't want to necessarily address strategy points every single day. But these things also can't be ignored! So go ahead and set a couple CEO days a month and make it happen.
Does Your Week Need Restructuring?
What we mean by this is, are you really prioritizing your day, according to how you're feeling and when you're the most productive? Are you doing things in the order you're doing them out of habit, or are you doing things purposefully? Have you prioritized your mental energy, your physical energy, and all of the things?
Have you been doing something in the morning that just doesn't work? Are you looking at when are you most productive, and planning out your tasks in light of that?
- Did you do the end-of-year report?
- Did you do the quarterly planning?
- Are you staying focused?
