How to Use Website Pop Ups to Grow My Email List

Yes! It is okay to grow your email list using a pop up on your website. There are just a few key things you need to keep in mind, which we will go into now.

Easy Outs

You need to make sure there is a clear way to exit the pop up, both on desktop and mobile versions. If you don't have this you will drive away your audience which will hurt your web traffic. Google is also able to crawl your website and will know if your site is not mobile friendly, and will dock you if it is not. So just make sure they have an easy way to exit the pop up if they do not wish to sign up.

Be Strategic

You don't want to have this pop up be a generic "sign up for updates" form, that is not going to get you the conversions you want! For this pop up you want it to be the one that resonates with your audience and gets the most conversions. We want you to get as many email sign ups as possible.

Keep Them Up to Date

This is not something you want to "set and forget." You need to make sure this pop up is always up to date. So if you do not have it set as an evergreen opt in (good year-round) you will want to change it out accordingly.
