In continuing our conversation about long term growth, I want to touch on the C word. Consistency. Because I feel like that word is so annoying. Does that word annoy anybody else? It really irritates me because I feel like it can hit us when we are feeling exhausted and burnt out or like we're not getting results.

We already know that we need to be consistent. Can somebody please stop saying it and just give me something else because I'm freaking tired. That's how it always seems to hit me. And I feel bad every time I say it to anybody else, they're like, you know, what do you think you need to do? And I'm like, ah, you really just got to keep being consistent.

I hate saying it. So I wanted to just address it because it is the key to long term growth, but I kind of want to. Challenge how you approach the word. So we've been podcasting for almost six years. September will be our six year anniversary. Absolutely crazy. And we've been educating for over eight.

That's consistent. You guys know that you can count on us being there. And that's something that I tell other people. Like I, whenever I talk to brands that we're partnering with or people that I want to have come on the podcast, like that is something that I emphasize is that We're here. We've been here.

We're not going anywhere. And our audience knows that they can count on us to be there. You guys can count on us that we're going to be here and to show up and to support you. We've been doing it for eight years. So within that though, we have taken breaks. We have ebbs and flows with social media.

There's been times where we have not posted on Instagram. For a really long time, taking long breaks, or only posting once a week when we had only one podcast a week and just posting that. I Missed sending an email a couple weeks in a row multiple weeks in a row. That's not normal for us I like to send emails every single Tuesday to you guys, but it's happened life has happened But I still show up thrive still shows up thrive is still here and you guys know that So I want you to give yourself a breather.

I want you to give yourself a pat on the back Don't give up show up You But you can show up in different ways, in different seasons of your life, of your year, of your month. That right there is what I believe is the key to long term growth. We're being consistent because you guys know we're not going anywhere.

We're being consistent because we didn't get so burned out that we're like, we can't do this anymore. We quit. We've been in this for a really long time to where we've even had speakers when we were doing in person conferences that are no longer running their successful blog and social media anymore because it was just too much.

And that is the most heartbreaking thing when I see that happen. It's when we don't give ourselves enough space and protect ourselves enough. So like a quick example of this is we were going to relaunch PBS in June of this year and With the season of life that I've been going through with the first six months of this year have been a lot of building for Thrive and like all of our rebranding and everything.

It was just too much. And I knew I was going to burn out. I was going to regret it. I was starting to feel anxiety when I thought about work. I was on vacation with my husband and my daughter. Up North, one of my favorite places in the world. And every time I thought about work, I started to get anxious and I knew that I needed to slow down.

We are the only ones, I wanted to tell you guys this so bad. I wanted to like, I should've just picked up my phone and started talking, but I want to do, I'm like, I have to tell people this. I'm like, we are the only ones that are. are setting these deadlines. Now, I understand if you've got a brand that you're working with and you've agreed on a certain spot, like that's, that's different, right?

But you also get to kind of help with dictating when that is going to be everything else, whether you've got a blog post, a podcast, a launch something, we're the CEOs, we set the deadlines. And when we are Burning out when we are feeling anxious, when we are not feeling creative anymore, when we're being Maybe too consistent and the content performance or the content quality is going down and suffering.

We need to slow down and give ourselves a break. The key to long term growth is being able to show up year after year after year. That is the consistency that we want to see. Yes, showing up consistently for blog posts, for social, for emails is all important. But if you're not giving yourself a break and being your biggest advocate, that's doing yourself a huge disservice and will make you not love your business really.

at the end of the day and can be really, really hard to show up when you're feeling totally wiped out. So that's why I want to talk to you guys about today. We're having conversations about this all the time inside of shift. I love, love, love our monthly chats. We do twice a month where we get to have open, honest, raw conversations about things like this, about strategy and about.

Nitty gritty things that are going on inside of businesses and inside of what people are working on. Yes. But we also have heart to heart conversations about things like this that I think are so vital and crucial to being in this for long term. So if you're interested in that, I'm opening up my calendar for the next couple of months to have one on one conversations with you guys, and I never do this, and I'm not just saying that.

Ask anybody that knows me. I never do this. So, but I want to get in and have more conversations with you guys. One on one I'm feeling pulled to do that. And it's really important to me to connect with you guys even more during this season of my life.
