319: Are Masterminds Still a Thing?

[00:00:27] All right, let's dive in our Masterminds still a thing. Yes And also, they're a little bit different than they have been in the past. So, yes, they are still a thing. There are traditional masterminds that are still around, but definitely not as like hot and trendy as they used to be. I feel like for a while there we were seeing everybody was talking about them.

[00:00:54] Everybody wanted to be a part of a mastermind. So, if you're like, wait, hold on, what is a mastermind? A mastermind is basically a group of people with a similar interest that are together to help each other grow. They're there to share ideas, to give each other tips and ideation and strategy. They're amazing.

[00:01:13] I have been a part of them for multiple years. And you guys know, it goes back to my roots of like, community is everything. There is so much power in networking and with learning from each other. So I think masterminds are a 10 out of 10 idea. What is challenging though, And what I was seeing whenever masterminds were more hot was like everyone is always wondering, how do I find them?

[00:01:39] Where are they? And unfortunately, a lot of the ones that have been out there are really, really, really expensive. I'm talking like 10, 000 a year and up. And if that's in your budget, awesome. Join it. You're probably going to join a whole bunch of really awesome badass business people that are going to pour into your business.

[00:02:00] But That may not be the thing you are looking for right now. The cool thing is while masterminds are still a thing, they are looking a lot different in other places. So yes, you can go and find a traditional mastermind, but. People are niching down and starting to open masterminds as a part of other cohorts or coaching groups that they run.

[00:02:26] So for example, if you were to purchase a membership or coaching from somebody, or sometimes even a course or a program or training, there is often Little cohorts of masterminding happening inside of that community. So I will give you a concrete example of how it works over here at thrive. So inside shift, our group coaching program that gives you one on one tailored advice and one on one coaching every single week also has a mastermind component through our group coaching calls and our, the way that we communicate is through Slack.

[00:03:08] It has turned into a mastermind within this program. So you're also, you're getting the one on one coaching from myself or our other thrive coaches, as well as this amazing mastermind group that is the other members that are inside this program. So you know that By joining a program like that, you are with like minded people that are on the same page as you and that can give you advice as well.

[00:03:37] It's really cool. So that's what I mean by how I think masterminds are still a thing, but probably look quite a bit different now than they used to because they're built in a little bit secretively, maybe not quite as like, Concrete and strategic as if you were to just go and outright purchase access to somebody's mastermind.

[00:03:58] But don't discount the masterminds that are happening inside of coaching programs and other courses or workshops that you are taking. that provide a community component to it. So, where do you find them now? Look at where you need guidance. Where do you need help? Where do you need to beef up some strategy or to learn something new?

[00:04:22] And look into what type of community that is offered within that course program or coaching.
