You’re not imagining it—yes, we’re talking about fall… in May.

This week, I’m getting real about why content creators need to look way ahead—even when it still feels like summer hasn't started. The truth is, if we want to crush Q4 and show up strong for the holiday season, the groundwork happens now.

I’m breaking down four crucial things to tackle this summer: your Pinterest strategy, creating high-converting opt-ins, locking in your fall content strategy, and planning your time off.

[00:00:00] Being a content creator can be such a strange job because I am recording an episode in May, end of May, but still in May, and reminding you that fall is only three months away and that the holidays are coming. That's weird, right? Like what other jobs? I guess any job in marketing is always looking forward, but it is so, so strange to me.

[00:00:31] It does help that This week we have this cold front that blew in. I don't know where you guys are in the world, if that's this happening to you too, but it's like in the forties today, oddly. So that kind of helps when I'm talking about this, but. Fall is coming and yes, I'm saying this really before it even feels like summer has begun.

[00:00:52] The reason I always bring this up so early is because it is a super busy season. I. That is coming, and you know this if you've been in it for a long time, and if you're new buckle up friend, because fall is busy. So we need to look now at what you are going to be doing to capitalize on the potential growth that you can have.

[00:01:18] To finish the year strong again, it feels so weird that I'm saying finish. Let's finish the year strong when it's only May, but it requires so much setup to make sure that we have success and we can't get into the thick of it and then set things up. We have to do it ahead of time. So I have a few things that I wrote down that I want you to really look at this summer.

[00:01:41] So the first thing is Pinterest, what needs to be pinned over the summer to get more eyes on it for fall, if you have been sleeping on Pinterest, you need to get on it. Pinterest is for any content creator, so it doesn't matter if you are just creating content for the blog. Then you're most likely already on Pinterest, but if you were only creating content for social media or for YouTube or even an email list, you still need to be on Pinterest.

[00:02:13] I'm going to link my girl Natalie Bardos Pinterest workshop in the description. If you need to learn how to do Pinterest. You need to be pinning things over the summer because things need to be pinned three months in advance for them to populate correctly into the algorithm to be seen. So that means June content is likely not gonna be seen until September.

[00:02:36] So what content do we want going on in September? Pumpkin? Everything, right? So that's the vibe that you need to be thinking about. So that's Pinterest. That's one thing you need to look at this summer. The second thing is what opt-ins need to be created to have one ready to go for the fall and for the holidays.

[00:02:54] You want to get those on Pinterest a thousand percent, but you also just wanna have them ready to go and ready when you need them. You don't wanna be having to scramble to create some autumn related opt-in. In September, right? We need to have that done over the summer. Same thing for anything holiday related, and you need an opt-in no matter what type of content creator you are.

[00:03:20] If you're solely, I'll go through my list again. If you're solely a blogger, if you're solely on social media, if you're solely on YouTube, you need to have an opt-in. The third thing is looking at what is your content strategy going to be for the last two quarters of the year, going into September, going into August?

[00:03:42] What are you going to be looking at? What are you going to be talking about? How often are you going to be posting? What is your strategy? What are the goals that you wanna achieve? Are you wanting to increase a certain revenue stream? Are you wanting to increase followers on a certain platform? You need to figure out what the content strategy is before you're in it.

[00:04:05] And then the last thing I want you to think about is how much time do you want to take off? How much time do you want off around the holidays? Do you want to go on vacation over Labor Day? Do you want to take some extra time off in October? I. I'm really looking at this now because I want to be able to completely have things recorded and done for the podcast before October gets here this year.

[00:04:34] That will be the earliest I've ever done it. I've I. Been able to take November and December off in past years from recording. I'm still coaching and doing all of the other things, but I would like to get one thing off of my plate, but that also means I have to be recorded through January because I can't create the content for January, in January without, um, my podcast producer wanting to, um.

[00:05:00] Do away with me. So to put it nicely. So those are the four things that I want you to really start to think about. And I know it's May and I know we're going into some super fun summer months, but this is the time to really be strategic and make sure that we do have a very successful end of year.

[00:05:18] Alright, I'll see you guys back here soon.
