[00:00:00] Let's talk about short form video. I know some of you are staring at your phone like, what do I even post? And I get it. Coming up with fresh ideas every day can be exhausting, so say the least, right? So in this episode, I'm going to share five super easy video ideas that you can literally film this week.

[00:00:23] In fact. Most of them. You don't even have to film. You probably already have the content. No fancy setup, no overthinking, just simple creative ways to show up and connect with your audience. Let's make short form video content, feel fun again, and maybe give yourself something super easy to do this week, shall we?

[00:00:43] Hey there, I'm brief hair content creator, coach, and your host of the Thrive Podcast. And I'm here to help you build a brand you're proud of with clear strategy and real support. Let's dive in.

[00:00:58] Alright, so the first one that we're gonna talk about is A SMR. Now, I am not talking about the TikTok videos that we see where somebody is like holding something up to the mic and like, I really wanna touch my mic right now, but. I won't do it to you, um, because my producer will hate me and you guys probably will too, but I'm not talking about that.

[00:01:16] But I am talking about do you have videos of a project you did, a recipe you made, or outfits that you tried on? Anything that you filmed and have you tried editing it with no music? No talking just sounds from the clip. A client of mine did this and it outperformed so many of her other reels. She literally just clipped them all together, sped them up a little bit as she was doing her project around her house, and so it was just that background noise or the noise that she was making while she was doing something.

[00:01:54] I love watching videos like that, and it's no surprise that so many others do as well. It's just something soothing and your brain doesn't even have to really think. You just watch and it performed really well. So that is one to give a try. You probably already have the content on your phone. The second idea is sharing five things that you're loving lately.

[00:02:16] Now this one requires some filming. Yes. But bonus points if you've got an affiliate and mini chat code set up. Here's the thing, you don't have to buy anything new. I know that you have five things around your home that would help your audience out, whether it's for an affiliate link or not. Don't overthink it.

[00:02:37] Grab it, film it, post it. Oh my God, I sounded like Paw Patrol just then, if anybody, rubble and crew. You can tell what my kid is into right now, but that sounded like it's just easy. Grab it, film it, post it. Maybe we should make a little meme out of this. Oh my gosh. But seriously, it can be that simple. You don't have to go buy something new.

[00:02:59] You can grab things around your house and share it. So if it's things that are helping you in the kitchen of your favorite tools, it can be five of your favorite, um, skincare products. It can be. Literally anything, five of your favorite blankets and pillows around the house. Yes, of course, if you are using Amazon or something as affiliate income, 100%.

[00:03:23] Use it. Set up a MiniChat code, make that money. But again, this is a super simple, easy video that anybody can make today. Okay, real talk. When's the last time you got excited about checking your mail? Like actually excited and yes, I mean, your physical mailbox, most days it's bills and flyers, right? But what if once a month there was something in there that made you stop, smile, and feel like someone was thinking of you?

[00:03:51] That's the Cozy Post Club. For $9 a month, you're set an envelope filled with the kind of things that just feel good, a friendly note. Delicious recipe. You'll actually wanna make a poem that feels like a hug, a darling art print, and a cozy little surprise. It's inspired by those sticker covered letters we used to send just because nineties movies, night rereading your favorite book, all those moments that remind us to slow down as content creators, we live online, but there's just something magical about holding something real in your hands.

[00:04:27] Something made with care just for you. Gift it to yourself or send it to a long distance friend so you can both have that. Hey, I got mail moment together. Sign up at the cozy post club.com. That's the cozy post club.com. Cancel anytime, but I have a feeling you won't want to. The third video idea is super easy.

[00:04:52] It's bloopers. If you wanna get real with your audience, want to connect with them, want to get some comments going? Engagement up. How many video clips do you have on your phone right now where you've had to rerecord because you stumbled or maybe you overthought it or something just didn't work? Give your audience a peek at what it really looks like to create content.

[00:05:16] I promise this video is going to be one that will spark engagement, get that engagement rate up, get people commenting, and be a lot of fun, and a really great way to connect with your audience. Okay, so we've covered A SMR videos, things you're loving and bloopers. I'm hoping this is inspiring you and you're starting to see that content creation doesn't have to be this huge, complicated thing.

[00:05:41] I'm gonna share a couple more with you, but I know a lot of you're still thinking, okay, cool, I can make the videos, but how do I actually turn this into growth? How do I make money from it? Right? That is literally why you're listening to this podcast. It's like, yes, you wanna grow your audience, but also the bottom line is you wanna make money, and that's what we talk about all the time, right?

[00:05:59] And honestly, that's why I built Bold Fluence. Because we don't just give you content ideas inside there, we show you how to tie your content to actual growth and income, like how to set up those affiliate links. I mentioned with the mini chat automations, how to grow on platforms that you're actually posting to and using, and how to create a strategy that works even if you only have a few hours a week, right?

[00:06:22] Taking these five easy short form videos and making it into money, so Bold Fluence is $49 a month. You get. All the roadmaps, templates, trainings, and community support you need, so you can stop guessing and start seeing results. Stop overthinking. So if that sounds like something you've been missing, I want you guys to go check out bold fluence, click it in the description, or head to thrive together, blog slash bold fluence.

[00:06:45] Okay, let's get back into those tips. Number four is all about bucket list. So I want you to share a bucket list for maybe it's the upcoming month or season or holiday. Bucket list work for any niche. Any niche. If you get stuck on this and you're like, Nope, not my niche, I want you to message me and we will come up with five ideas for you within your niche.

[00:07:11] Okay? Is it fashion? Do five items. You want to try to style home, do a bucket list of six things you wanna get done around the house before Christmas. Lifestyle. I feel like that's the easiest one, right? Like do 10 seasonal things you want to do for fun before the new year, or you know, whatever it is. I think this is something super fun and again, super, super.

[00:07:36] Easy. You don't have to have something that you go and film even. It can be using clips that you've already got. Okay, number five. So my last idea for you is share something you might not know about me. So share something that you're. Audience might not know about you. You can do something juicy or silly.

[00:08:01] It can be literally anything. You can use a cute little b-roll clip or several that you already have on your phone. And again, this is super easy and creates a fun talking point with your audience. I feel like this one really gets things, um, sparked in the comments and helps boost that engagement similarly to how the bloopers one would.

[00:08:22] I did something like this where I did a list of things that people don't really know about me, and I did some like interesting ones at the beginning, like the very first one. 'cause I'm like, I want this to be eye catching. I want people to stop scrolling, right? That's like the whole point of doing this.

[00:08:38] And so I did that. If you wanna know what I'm talking about, it's pinned to my, um, the top of my feed on my Instagram page. And. It got so many people talking. So many people were like, wait, what? I've known you for years. I didn't know this, or I've been following you for so long. That's crazy. I had no idea.

[00:08:56] So it really got the comments going and got my engagement boosted, which is great, right? That's what we need. So there you have it. Five easy short form video ideas that you can start using today. So those A SMR clips, things you're loving, bloopers, bucket lists, and fun facts about you. And none of those require you to buy anything new or even spend hours editing.

[00:09:19] Like I wanted to make a list that was super, super easy. So just grab what you've got. And hit post, literally like grab what you have around your house or grab what you already have on your phone recorded. And you know, here's the thing with all of this is that your audience doesn't need perfection. In fact.

[00:09:39] You know, I, I would almost argue that it's better to not be perfect. Your audience needs connection, so just give yourself permission to keep it simple and have a little fun with it. Pick one of these ideas, film it this week. Tag me when you post it so I can cheer you on if you found this helpful. Of course, make sure to subscribe so you don't miss next.

Why Short-Form Video Still Matters

Short-form video is still one of the most powerful content types, thanks to platforms like Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. It’s a quick way to show your personality, build trust, and grow visibility, but with constant algorithm shifts and never-ending trends, it’s easy to feel like you're always behind.

Spoiler alert: you’re not behind. What you need isn’t more trends—it’s more ease.

These five video ideas will help you create fast, connect meaningfully, and potentially monetize, all without the burnout.

1. ASMR Content for Influencers

Have you considered adding ASMR to your content? Before you immediately reject the idea, don't just think of ASMR as whispers or tapping.

I’m talking about the raw, unfiltered sounds of your everyday life. Think: spliced clips of you rearranging your living room, baking a cake, or styling an outfit. No music. No voiceover. Just the natural ambiance of your space.

These videos are oddly soothing. They stop the scroll because they feel real. And the best part? You probably already have clips on your phone that would work perfectly.

2. Five Things You're Loving Lately

Now, what about a themed roundup? Consider 5 things you're loving lately. It's simple, evergreen, and highly shareable.

Film a quick video featuring five products, tools, or little luxuries you’re currently obsessed with. Think beyond Amazon hauls, your go-to kitchen gadget, a favorite pen, or even a candle that smells like nostalgia.

And yes, if you’ve got affiliate links or ManyChat automations set up, this is an ideal moment to use them. But don’t let monetization hold you back. Share what you love, affiliate or not.

3. Bloopers and Behind-the-Scenes

Real talk: your “oops” moments might just be your best-performing content. Consider adding in bloopers and behind-the-scenes for high engagement content.

We all have those takes that didn’t make the cut. The awkward stumbles, the laughing fits, the overthinking. Instead of deleting them, turn them into a blooper reel.

Why? Because realness = relatability, which builds trust (and boosts engagement). These videos remind your audience that there’s a human behind the brand and people love that.

4. Seasonal or Niche Bucket Lists

I love a good seasonal bucket list. Even if seasonal isn't your jam, niche bucket lists are gold for engagement and SEO.

Create a short video listing your bucket list goals for the upcoming month or season, then tailor it to your niche:

  • Fashion: 5 outfits you want to try before the holidays
  • Home: 6 things you want to declutter before the new year
  • Lifestyle: 10 cozy things you want to do before winter break

Use existing B-roll footage or even static images. Add some text overlays, a little trending audio, and you’re done.

Bucket lists invite your audience to join in, comment, and even share their own. Instant engagement boost.

5. “You Might Not Know This About Me”

Your audience wants to get to know you, so why not film content about you that is shocking. This one is a scroll-stopper.

Share a few unexpected facts about yourself that are silly, surprising, or downright weird. The goal is to make people pause and say, “Wait, what?” It builds connection, prompts comments, and gives you a chance to let your personality shine.

Use B-roll of your day-to-day life or add clips from your photo archive. The more casual, the better.

Bonus: this kind of video often gets saved and reshared, because people love getting a behind-the-scenes look at the humans behind the content.

You Don’t Need Fancy

Let this be your permission slip to stop overcomplicating content creation. These video ideas are intentionally simple. You don't need a studio, fancy gear, or a long editing session. Think of the real moments and share with intention.

Here's my challenge to you: pick one, film it this week, post it, then tag me so I can cheer you on.
