Hey Thrivers, it's September, which means a new month and a new topic of conversation for our Thriving Five episodes. So this month, we are going to be talking about how to Become successful on multiple platforms at one time, and I feel like this might go against the grain with what a lot of people talk about of just go all in on one and focus on one.
I think that you can have success on multiple platforms. I also think it is crucial to the longevity of your business. To have success on multiple platforms, and we'll dive into that a bit. And so we're gonna just talk about, you know, how do we actually make this happen? How do we have more exposure on multiple platforms without creating more content and without adding a ton to our plate and increasing our chance of burning out?
We don't wanna do that. So. You can have success on multiple platforms, but you have to be strategic. I feel like that is probably one of my most used key words at this point. Should get a tattoo of it or something. Strategy is key to having success. So I'm going to quickly talk about in this episode a few things for just like kind of the basics for building your brand on multiple platforms.
And that first thing is that we want to make sure that we have a consistent brand voice. That may sound obvious, but I think it is very easy for us to kind of change up a little bit of who we are or to not adapt. Based on the platform. And let me dive into that more. So for consistency, we want to make sure your tone, the way you edit your photos and videos and your fonts, your colors, graphics are all within your branding.
What we don't want to do, because you do want to, you know, when you're cross promoting and you're posting on different platforms, we can't just copy and paste because. Things that perform well for an Instagram reel aren't going to necessarily perform well for an email. So we have to get strategic with it, but we don't want to change things up so much to where the tone just sounds totally different and like a different person or things look different, right?
If we're adding a photo for, let's say a blog post or an email, we want to make sure that it has the same tone and color scale and all of that. For a YouTube video or for a reel. So that's what I'm talking about is there needs to be a little bit of a change up on each platform, but not when it comes to your brand voice and the way things look necessarily.
So when you're cross promoting, we don't want to just copy and paste it to another platform. We want to think through the topic and how we can adapt it across other platforms. We're going to dive into this even more next week because these are five minute episodes and I can't get into it all today. Bye.
But I want to tell you just to get your brain thinking about this is start with the main platform. So if you are super active on Instagram and that is your bread and butter, or if you have a blog and that is your jam, think about, okay, let me start with that main place. And then I'm going to branch out from there and just start with one, start with one other place.
Where else am I going to, Diversify and find success. What other platform am I going to use next? Now as we're getting started in this conversation, I can't go further without mentioning some tools to help us because like I said at the beginning, we don't want to just add more to our plate. We don't want to, this just become like, Oh, I have to post on five different platforms and they all have to be slightly different and they all have to talk to my audience and make sure they resonate and Oh my God, I'm exhausted, burnt out and I'm done.
Right? We don't want that to happen, and I know that spiral was very quick, but, oh my gosh, you guys, show of hands, how often does that happen, right? When we're just like, I'm getting overwhelmed. I'm so overwhelmed. I am done. Right? Like, it happens pretty quickly. So, you need tools to help support you. So you need something to stay organized.
It doesn't matter which one it is. It doesn't matter how you do it. It doesn't matter if you're going to use Asana or Trello or Notion, whatever it may be, but you have to use something. You can't just keep everything inside of your brain and inside of like your notes app on your phone. It It's not going to serve you in the long run.
And that is what we're here for. We want longevity with your brand. So pick something to stay organized and then consider using a scheduler. Schedulers can help, or just use the native platforms to schedule pretty much all of them at this point, have a way for you to schedule within the YouTube, your blog, Facebook, email, They all have their own schedulers, so you don't necessarily have to spend money right now on another tool for that if you don't want to.
So that is my suggestion. That's where I want you guys to start. That's where I want to start this conversation for the month. So let's get started with thinking about this and how we're going to grow our brands for the long term and be successful on multiple platforms.
