To wrap up this month's Thrive in 5 conversations on long term growth, I needed to wrap this up with talking about our business besties, because I do think business besties are vital to long term growth. I would not be here recording this and chatting with you guys today if I did not have an amazing support system.

I will. Say that my support system has changed over the years. I don't have the same exact people in my life in the same capacity that I did five years ago. Life happens, changes happen, right? It's normal for there to be ebbs and flows in friendships and Like, my business besties are also some of my actual best friends.

So the key here is that you need business besties, not business commiserators, okay? I want you to ask yourself some hard questions that you may not like. But that you may need to hear, is your circle lifting you up or tearing you down? Do you feel energized or drained by them? If you're feeling drained, is it time to find new business besties or let's just, you know, ignore all of that.

Let me just ask you period without thinking about all of the different things. Is it time for you to find a new business bestie? You know, it is completely okay to have moments when you need to vent. 100 percent happens to all of us. We cannot go around looking at the world constantly and looking at our business constantly through rose colored glasses and acting like everything is freaking sunshine and rainbows.

That is not the case. Business is hard, but you can't let the commiserating and the venting and the being upset. Become the habit where every time you get on a call with that person, it's like a downer and like, uh, this isn't working, blah, blah, blah. I hate Instagram. Oh my God. SEO is stupid right now. Why am I even doing this?

Or every time you get a message, it's about something going wrong. Or you find yourself constantly sending messages about something that's going wrong. You need people surrounding you that are going to challenge you in a good way. People that will lift you up and give you ideas and vice versa. You need to be able to be inspired when you're talking to people and get excited.

There was, I had a random idea pop into my head for one of my business besties last night and I sent her a Marco Polo this morning and I was like, have you ever thought about doing this for your conference? I think that your audience would really love this and threw that idea her way. That's what I want in my life.

I want people to randomly think of me and have an idea and message me. I want people when I am feeling stuck in my business to be like, Hey, let's hop on a zoom call and chat it out real quick. And I'm going to give you some ideas like that stuff. I could like, if I linger on that, I'm going to get emotional because that is huge.

That is huge to me. Like when I am saying that I am stuck. Or I'm struggling for somebody to pull me out and for me to be able to do that for somebody else. That is everything. That is the type of people you need in your life. You need people surrounding you that are going to challenge you in a good way.

To be there when shit hits the fan, because it will, and to be okay with sitting in uncomfortable feelings, but then also to help you problem solve. So, where are you at with your business besties? Where are you at? Do you have people in your life that are lifting you up and not bringing you down and helping you with your business?

Because being stuck in a commiserating loop is not good, and it is not going to help you with long term growth. I will. Do a hard sell for you guys right now. If you need business besties like that, that are amazing and are going to understand and are going to be in a good environment for you, I want you to look at PBS or I want you to look at shift.
