Imposter syndrome, perfectionism, self-doubt, burnout, procrastination.... any of those ring a bell? On the show, Becky Mollenkamp, a mindset coach, joins us to discuss all of these things. She shares strategies for working through them and dives into what to do when we encounter those limiting beliefs.
"I love seeing the remarkable difference in how [the women I help] are showing up and how they're feeling...For most of my clients, it goes from life happening to them to them being in control and empowered in their lives. So many of us don't think about that."
Topics Discussed in this Episode
- How Becky rebuilt her life
- Mindset blocks
- Time management
- Imposter syndrome
- Lack of self-care
- Caring for others over ourselves
"Usually with my clients, what we do is the work that helps us get to figuring out what are these patterns of thinking, and even more important, when did they take root? Why did they take root? Because once you can see that, you can't unsee it, and then you can start to look at things in the present tense as just the present tense instead of bringing along all the baggage that we all have with us."
- Managing these thoughts and not allowing them to hold you back anymore
"Pushing things away makes us feel like we're in control. Like, "Oh, I just won't deal with this right now." But I can tell you, feelings only have one job. Their job is to be felt and when you try to ignore them and push them away, they just grow stronger until they eventually will be felt."
- Story vs. truth
- Fight vs. Flight vs. Freeze: How to move past these limiting beliefs
- Having compassion with yourself
"Having that compassion with yourself can make a lot of difference. Then it's just saying [to those thoughts], "I'm okay. I don't need you. I'm going to release this. This isn't serving me anymore so I'm going to let this go."
- Mindset coaching vs. Therapy
- Imposter syndrome
"Remember that you are what's unique. You are what makes your product and service and blog different...Stop the comparison game. I know it's hard. It's easy to get caught up in a mindless scrolling of social media, and then we find ourselves at the end of it feeling worse than we did when we started. Stop doing things that don't feel good. Stop doing things that are making you feel worse. You don't have to. You get to choose. This is a choice you can make. You can stop looking at Instagram feed's that make you feel bad."
