[00:00:00] Bree: Hi friends, welcome back to another Thrive in 5. I am here with Kim. Hi, Kim. Hi, Brie. We are at the retreat for our shift gals up here in Minnesota and Kim has joined me all the way from Washington State and So we're gonna chat about Thrive for a little bit. Kim. Hello. Hi. Tell everybody who you are Where they can go and find you on the internet and what you do.
Okay.
[00:00:30] Kim: Well, I'm Kim Robinson and my blog is shiplap and shelves. It's a home and garden blog, but it also has a little bit of Pacific Northwest lifestyle in it as well.
[00:00:43] Bree: Amazing. Her brand, you guys, is so relaxing and just calm and it's like, you're like, Oh, I just want to be there. And I want to just feel that peace and calm.
That is like what you give off. In all of your content is truly wonderful. So you guys,
[00:01:03] Kim: I love to hear that because I try. So it's good that you love it. Oh my gosh.
[00:01:08] Bree: So you guys go give her a follow, check out her pages and her blog. Okay. So we're here at shift. You have been a part of shift for a while now.
This is my third year. Oh my gosh. I have loved working with you. I would love to hear, can you tell us what is one of the biggest wins you've had since joining shift?
[00:01:27] Kim: It's hard to just think of one, but I think the biggest thing was just growing my email list and how I grew it. You know, there's so many different ways that I wasn't even really sure how I could do that, but it has really changed, uh, how many people go to the blog and my ad revenue, obviously, um, the digital products that I'm selling, just everything coming from just that email list and, and knowing that.
You know, if something else happens to social media or anything else, it's, I know that I can fall back on that. I mean, I've grown it from, I think when I started with you, it was about 30, I had about 3, 500 subscribers and now I have almost 11, 000. That's amazing. Yeah.
[00:02:17] Bree: Yeah. Oh my gosh. And I just love to, like, you have, that's one thing you have, you have an amazing open rate.
But your click through rate, you told us this yesterday and we all were just like, Oh my God. Cause you were like, Oh, it's not that good. It's like about 6%. And the rest of us are like, Oh my God, I had no idea. We would kill for an open rate of 6%. But, and also the fact that you had no idea too, like that just like signifies, don't you think it kind of encompasses like everything we've been talking about with this group is like.
You don't know what you don't know until you guys, like, until we start having these conversations and then you're like, Oh, okay. Or I could make this little shift and like, see a big difference in something. Absolutely. Absolutely. So, yeah, I was, yeah, I was just as shocked as you were
[00:03:06] Kim: because you know, you're in your, uh, you're kind of in your own lane and you're trying to figure out, I always compete with myself and I always try to do better than I did the month before, and I'm not really looking at.
What other people are doing because I'm so competitive with myself, which
[00:03:23] Bree: is great. Yeah
[00:03:24] Kim: That's a very good thing. So good to know that I have I have a great open rate. You really great Yeah,
[00:03:29] Bree: yeah, and just everything else that you can do with that and monetizing it. Definitely. Oh my gosh. I'm so excited Okay, so if anybody is like thinking about applying for shift or just not hearing about it for the first time What would you tell them?
[00:03:41] Kim: Oh, well, let's see. I think it's It speaks volumes, the fact that I am doing this for a third year and you don't, you know, a lot of coaches that I've had in the past, you're kind of done after that first year. It's like, okay, I think I've learned everything that I need to learn. I, you know, you're kind of just stuck at where you're at and we just constantly are learning new things from you and from our group of ladies, our community, our shift community.
And. I'm just amazed by how much I learned from them as well. Yes. And we all just click and we all have different things that we're good at. Right. Uh, and different opportunities. And so we all can just help each other out as well.
[00:04:27] Bree: Yes.
[00:04:28] Kim: But I, I have learned so many different things. I have grown my Instagram over a hundred thousand since I've been here.
My email list, I've learned how to do digital products, how to sell them, how to market them. I've learned how to be more efficient with my systems. I mean, I could go on and on, but since I'm sitting here right with you, my brain isn't really clicking as much as it should be. It's fine because I'm already
[00:04:53] Bree: blushing.
Right. I'm embarrassed. Um, there's just so much, and I know,
[00:04:58] Kim: go on, go on. It's just, there's been so many different things. What else have I, I mean, Oh, editorial calendars
[00:05:06] Bree: and, um, and I mean, any one of those, like little, the, I say little things. They, they make a big difference. Yep. And I think that's like what I'm coming across lately for some reason, I know I talked about it on a previous podcast, but it's just like, man, you don't have to make these huge drastic things.
It's just like learning from somebody else and learning like little tiny shifts to make that. Like. Oh, wow. That really actually added like more followers or more income. And that's huge.
[00:05:33] Kim: And it all, it's funny because now it just seems like it all blends and all flows together. Yes. Whereas before I felt like they were all very different businesses.
And to me, It's a brand now. And before it was like, oh, I have a Pinterest account or I have an Instagram account and now it's like I have a brand it's called shiplap and shells and It just it all flows. It's just it's amazing and really being in this Whole group this environment. I've read my my confidence has shot up as well So yeah, I can't think of You Of any other coaching that I would want to do so you're fabulous, by the way,
[00:06:17] Bree: you're fabulous I hope we
[00:06:18] Kim: can keep that in there.
We
[00:06:19] Bree: can Thank you so much for just taking a few minutes during this retreat to talk to me and oh well the retreat
[00:06:28] Kim: yeah Was actually the best part of the whole coaching.
[00:06:32] Bree: Yeah, it's, oh my gosh, we've had so much fun. We
[00:06:34] Kim: have had so much fun and we've gotten to play and we've gotten to work and we've gotten to create content and uh, it's been a lot of fun.
I don't want to go home tomorrow.
[00:06:45] Bree: I know, I know, I'm already going to cry. It's just going to happen. It's been great. And it's just for if you're in shift at any point in time. You get invited to these type of things. So another incentive to join. Yep.
[00:06:56] Kim: Ask me. I'll tell you anything about it.
[00:06:58] Bree: Go ping Kim and follow her shiplap and shells.
