Hello, friends. Mindset is something that is so incredibly important, I think for everyone, but especially when it comes to us as entrepreneurs, as people that need to stay creative and have that energy and be inspired. So what I wanted to do today is create a little, a little, a lot. A bit different podcast for you guys today.

So this podcast episode, you will need to listen to when you are somewhere that you can sit and have a pen and paper in front of you. You could do it on your phone or on your laptop, but I think it's really important to to do this exercise whenever you have pen and paper, or even like an iPad and you're able to write on an iPad, but we're going to do a mindset exercise today.

This is something that I recently did with our gals in our shift coaching program. And I loved it so much that I wanted to do it and share it with you guys. So we're going to like turn on some like. Chill meditative type music throughout this podcast. I'm going to give you time to think and to write.

I'm going to give you some prompts and I hope that this is an episode that you can keep coming back to whenever you feel like I need to get my mindset, right. Or I feel overwhelmed or I feel like I'm burnt out or I'm on the edge of burnout. This is an episode I want you guys to save and do it. Keep using it over and over and over again.

This is a practice that I do some of the questions and the exercises that we're going to do. I do typically about once a month and then some of the other ones that I do, I will do more frequently or just when things feel really hard or heavy or like I'm really overloaded. So without further ado, let's cue the music, grab your notebook and let's get started.

So the first thing that I want you guys to write down is what worked well in your business this past month. And I also want you to write down what is one lesson that you learned as you're reflecting on this month and writing down those things that worked well.

Now. I want you to write down three things that feel hard right now. This can be something for your business. It can be something personally. It doesn't matter. But write down three things that feel hard right now.

Now, how much easier was it to write down those things that feel hard versus writing down those things that work well? I now want you to reframe those three things that feel hard for me. This is something that I have learned through therapy and it has been so helpful for me both in business and in personal life.

It's been, it's truly been a wonderful thing for me to learn how to do. So I'm going to give you an example if you've never done this before. An example could be, I don't have enough time and that is something that feels hard right now. And so how I reframe this when I'm feeling this way is to reframe it, I write, I am doing my best with the time I have available.

This is just a season and I'm going to be able to learn from this and make adjustments for the future. So now I want you to do the same. All three of those things that you wrote down that feel hard right now.

Now, I want you to stop for a second. Close your eyes. Make sure you're in a safe place. Close your eyes and take some deep breaths and I'll tell you when to open your eyes. One

of my favorite Peloton instructors taught me this breathing technique and it is to take a deep breath and take a second inhale at the top. Hold it for a few seconds and then let go.

Now, open your eyes and I want you to re read what you wrote down for things that feel hard and how you're reframing them. How do you feel? This is not an instant fix, but it does help me feel better when I'm reading. Rounded and in control when I do this exercise. And like I said, I do this. It's for business and I do this for personal as well.

And when things are particularly busy, I have this morning routine that I love to do. Do I get to do it every single day? Absolutely not. But I try to do it as often as I can and it takes me less than 10 minutes. And what I've been doing is I love to go on YouTube and turn on a sound bath. meditation.

Find a video that is a sound bath. I love, it just calms me. And I will pull up my journal and I've been writing down things in groups of three. So, and whatever comes to my head, sometimes it's the same thing every day, sometimes it's different in terms of like, what my groupings of three are. But like, I'll write down three things that I'm grateful for.

Three things that I'm proud of. Three things that made me smile yesterday. Three things that feel hard right now. And whenever I feel like I need to write something down that feels hard, or that I'm struggling with, or that I'm overwhelmed by, I always try to pause for a minute and reframe it. Like I said, it's not an instant fix, but it does help me feel better.

So I hope that the next time you guys are feeling stressed, you're feeling overwhelmed or burnt out, whether it's by your business, whether it's by social media, your blog, your personal life, whatever is going on that you can come back to this episode, save it and do this exercise again with me. I'll see you guys back here in a few days for a new episode.
