Shift is 12 months of customized strategy and coaching for bloggers, influencers, and content creators who are ready to have a consistent monthly income.

Lower Lifts to Impact Your Bottom Line

To kick off this call, we started discussing things we could do in our business that would improve, increase, and impact our bottom line. It is so easy to overcomplicate our lives and businesses, when we originally started it to do the opposite. How can you get out from that? Oftentimes it's those lower lifts that impact your bottom line, like hiring a virtual assistant. Consider what impact would a lower lift could make on your business three months from now?

This could also mean reevaluating your time and boundaries, then training your audience and the brands you work with to know them—a great example is Philip or Flop who only posts on the weekends and doesn't work with brands who require him to submit collaborations for approval.

Repurposing Content

As content creators, you're likely spending a ton of time creating content that doesn't get seen as much as we'd like or repurposed as much as it could. Consider the impact your overall brand and workflow would see if you started repurposing it.

Shift member Brooke actually repurposes her social media content too by saving her reels to a specific album before she shares them. She then takes that content and reposts it to the same platform later down the road. The odds of your audience remembering every piece of content is unlikely, so don't let that hold you back from repurposing.

Another Shift member, Kim, has been updating and repurposing an old blog post every week in addition to her new content. The updated old posts are doing better than they did before, but also better than some of her new content. She's found that the content is great, yet since they were early on, there is so much room for improvement. During our call, we found that she was potentially overcommitting herself to doing too many posts and preparing for burnout. We decided that it was time for her to take a short break, scale back to avoid burnout, then re-evaluate in three weeks.

Working through Comparison

When it comes to hitting pause on things that we know are working, just like Kim agreed to do on our Shift call, we often hesitate due to outside factors. We like to unintentionally feed into the comparison game—watching what others are doing and thinking we have to put out the same amount of content or copy what they're doing.

This is why it's so important to find a community that can help you hit the pause button, take a step back, and determine what you need as a person and how that can fit into your business. I personally ran into my own battle with comparison earlier this year, where I had to unsubscribe from someone's text that I used to love. What once brought me inspiration began to force me into comparison when I saw how others were doing so well in business.

In order to stop comparison, you can unsubscribe, unfollow, ask to not discuss specific things with friends, etc. Whatever you need to do to put blinders on and focus on your own work.
