The details are in the data. To wrap up this month's Multi-Platform Mastery series, we have to talk about analytics and how data can inform your decisions! Listen in as I share how you can measure your data, what to consider in reviewing the numbers, and what you can learn from your analytics!

Hey Thrivers, can you guys believe it is the last Tuesday of September already? We are officially in fall and in the first day of fall, it's like what, September 22nd. And we are wrapping up our conversation this month on multi platform mastery. So if you have missed the last Thrive in 5 episodes, I have gotten so many messages and conversations from you guys just about how helpful this was.
Thank you so much for telling me that. I'm really glad that these episodes are giving you the little nudge and the push that you need. So in this last episode, we're going to wrap everything up in a nice little bow, a pink bow in the driveway with talking about analytics and growth. So why it is important for us to dive into this.
To track our analytics, to do a deep dive into our content, to inform our strategy, and to optimize performance across all of the platforms. So some key things to remember as you are going through your metrics. Number one is how often did you share it? It can be really easy to get down on yourself or to get frustrated when a piece of content didn't perform.
And I want you to ask yourself, how many times did I actually share that piece of content? And it doesn't matter what type of content it is. If it's a short form video, it's a long form video. If it's a blog post, an email, if it is not reaching. People more than one time, you're doing it such a disservice, which is why we've been talking about multi platform mastery.
So when you're looking at this, you really want to look at, okay, how did this piece of content work on each platform? Which one did I really nail it? Which one needs a little bit of work? Okay. So keep that in mind. Don't beat yourself up on if something didn't perform well. The other thing to remember is yes, sometimes the algorithms do mess with us.
That is a fact of the. Life we are in right now, however, it just brings everything back into perspective of what we've been talking about for the last four Tuesdays is that we need to take our content and give it legs. We need to get it across multiple platforms and become a pro. All of our content being on multiple platforms.
So let's talk about data real quick. So how do we interpret data to inform strategy? I have a method that I want you to try. So it's going to at first be like, Oh yeah, I already do that. Okay. But here's my caveat to it. So the first thing is look at the pieces of content that really did well, what do they have in common?
So for this example, let's say we're talking about Instagram reels. Okay. So I want you to go over to your analytics, look at how many views it got, look at the comments, look at all those things. And I want you to pull your top ones from the last, let's say 60 to 90 days. Okay. Cause I think if, We go, we can do 30, but it just a broader standpoint and a broader scope is going to give us more information.
So let's say 16 to 90 days, pull the top five to 10, let's say 10 to start. Okay. Then I want you to go. And I want you to look at the opposite. I want you to look at the pieces of content that didn't land. So go and pull your reels that like, didn't get the views, didn't get any engagement in quote unquote flapped.
Right. Now, I want you to look at each of those. What do they have in common? Look at the ones that didn't land. What do those have in common? And look at the ones that did land. What do those have in common? Okay. So what I mean by that is you want to find the commonalities. So whether it performed really well or it performed terribly, what, what from there has a commonality and has an overlap.
Okay. So let's say out of the 10 pieces that you pulled that did really well in the 10 pieces you pulled that did really crappy from that five of each have something in common. I want you to remove those. Okay. Just ignore them completely. Okay. Now. Because I want you to look at the two extremes. Okay. So looking at those two extremes, so the five and five that have nothing to do with each other, they don't have anything like completely in common, looking at those two extremes, what can we learn from each?
What about the messaging? What did you do for messaging? Were you talking to your audience, the formatting, how you filmed it? Maybe the content pillar. What is the content pillars on those ones and what made them successful and vice versa? What do you think made them not work really well? And that's where you got to get some brutal honesty for yourself.
So I find that when you kind of like separate the two. Remove some of the things that they have in common and then just look at those extremes and learn from those. So learn from the ones that you're like, Oh, these five were the worst of the worst, right? Let's just say that because we do have content that just flops.
Does it need a rework in messaging? Was it a good idea, but it just needs to be tweaked? What is it that made it not quite click with your audience? Vice versa, what made those ones really stand out and pop off, right? That is how we learn. What happens is we often don't stop to learn from our own content and then implement change based on what we've learned.
Sometimes we'll look at our analytics a little bit, or sometimes we'll see a reel that's like, eh, that didn't do so good, or this piece of content, eh, it kind of worked, or yay, that one really worked, hurrah. But we're not stopping to actually learn because we are learning. Busy and we keep running and running and running.
And if you don't stop to learn, you're doing yourself and your business a disservice. But here's the thing, personal example, I have been doing a monthly audit for myself where I look at like, what's really working in my business, what needs help, blah, blah, blah. And I realized in my list of things that some things had gotten worse.
And some things just hadn't changed because I did the audit the previous month and then moved on with my life. So maybe in the previous month I acknowledged, ooh, um, I really need to promote my opt ins more. I haven't done that and that got like a low score on my auditing scale for the month. And then I set the audit aside and keep going on with my day and keep going on with my week.
And then the next thing you know, a month has passed and I still have not improved with how often I share my opt ins. This literally just happened to me this morning, okay? And it's because I didn't make any adjustments. So you can do an audit every single month, every single week, but if you don't make any adjustments from learnings of that audit, it's not actually going to change anything in your business.
And we want to learn from these and change and grow. So if you want to learn how to grow. And scale without having to do it all on your own. You need to be inside one of our coaching programs, head to thrive together. blogslash coaching. And it's going to take you to a page that explains the breakdown of our two programs.
So you can learn about them and decide which one is the best for you. And then go and learn more. So thrive together. blogslash coaching. I am so glad we had this month to talk about multi platform mastery. You guys re listen to this. Make sure you get in your auditing and I'll see you in a couple days with a new episode.
