[00:00:00] If you're feeling scattered or overwhelmed, this is for you. Here's what's in. Knowing exactly what you're working on. Every single time you get to your desk, what's out, winging it, we are going to get organized. If you're feeling scattered or overwhelmed, that's what's in and what's out for you. Okay? So we need to get organized.

[00:00:31] We are not going to wing it anymore. I want you to make sure that you have a system that works for you. It does not matter which one it is. It doesn't matter if it's Asana, Airtable, Trello, Notion, ClickUp, Monday, I don't care. Just pick one and use it every single day. What trips people up is picking one, setting it up, and then not using it.

[00:01:00] And they're like, it's just not working for me. But if you're not looking at it every single day, you're not going to get in the habit of practicing using it and letting it help you stay organized and keep you from feeling scattered. The next thing I want you to do is get on a schedule. So maybe you need to time block.

[00:01:26] Maybe you need to pick certain days for certain tasks. I created a time block for myself. I had been resistant to this and just really realized, you know what, I, I really need to get, I have such a finite amount of time that I have to work as we all do. And I was not being. as guarded with it and as protective with it as I need it to be.

[00:01:54] So I asked chat GPT to help me. I told it all about my business. I've told it, you know, what is important to me, what tasks I need to do and asked it to help me figure out a schedule. that also allows for creativity and allows for, you know, all of these things that were important to me. And then after I tweaked it and got it where I felt good about it, I went into my Google calendar and I created time blocks for myself every single day that I'm working and gave myself, all right, from this time to this time on this day, I am working on this type of task.

[00:02:37] And It's been a process. It is 100 percent a thing where pick a system that works for you and use it every day. I have had to get into the habit of using it every day and looking at it and be like, okay, what am I supposed to be focusing on? Because I've been in the habit for so long of get to my desk and be like, okay, what's on fire or what's most important?

[00:03:01] Let me just knock that out. But that has made me feel overwhelmed and has made me feel scattered and has made my growth not as productive as it should be. So, I'm not telling you these things just to be like, you need to be more rigid, you need to be more blah, blah, blah. I'm telling you these things because I know for a fact That is going to make a difference in your growth.

[00:03:28] Another thing you could do is certain days for certain tasks. If you're like, Bree, I cannot just like time block and have like that strict, pick a certain day for certain tasks. So if you know that every Tuesday you're going to spend two hours writing emails, put that on your calendar and don't skip it, treat it like an appointment.

[00:03:48] And then whatever you don't get done in that two hour time block. That's going to go to the following Tuesday. I've done this before because I could get lost in a project and just spend hours and hours and hours and then neglect something else that was also really important and be like, Oh, I need to go and finish that thing.

[00:04:07] I need to work on it again tomorrow. And I was like, Nope, I'm going to work on it again, but I'm going to work on it again next Tuesday. And there was some peace that that brought me and just knowing I'm not. Ignoring it, but I'm going to work on it again next Tuesday because I'm going to work on these other things that are also very important.

[00:04:27] And that is what you have to do because there are so many hats that you wear and there are many things that are important, but oftentimes two, maybe three or four tasks can take precedence and can monopolize. your entire day, week, month, and year, and leave you not feeling like you are making as much progress as you should, or just constantly feeling overwhelmed and feeling heavy by everything you have to do.

[00:05:01] So these tasks that I'm telling you, getting organized, getting on a schedule, time blocking are going to help make a huge, huge difference for you.
