But if they're not, then I don't want to keep recording them. So, let me know what you guys think. All right. For our last episode of this month for thriving five, we're talking about when is it time to stop relying on quote unquote, YouTube university.

And I'm going to start this episode by just sharing that a little bit of my story. So I. Was self taught for so long. And honestly, that's kind of the story of my life up until I, um, was older and stopped relying on YouTube university. And what I mean by that is just. With how I was raised and with college and all these different things, I was very much used to having to teach myself things.

That's a story for another day or when you buy me a cocktail and we sit down and chat. But I was used to doing that and I was used to being scrappy and I was used to figuring things So because of that, I learned so much through YouTube, through free webinars, through blog posts, and then trial and error and trial and error.

And I always. I felt like I was a little bit on the outside of things looking in, um, either afraid to invest in things or not even knowing what I should invest in and if it would give me results and you know, all of those things that we questioned before we actually pulled a plug to ask for help. And so I did that for a really long time.

And I'm pretty scrappy. I, I, I will admit, I'm pretty proud of myself for how scrappy I am, but I always wonder, I'm like, man, if I would have had a little bit of help, how much further along would I be right now? I was definitely wearing myself out. I hit a point where I knew I needed to learn more, but I didn't even know what that was.

I remember sitting on a call with a friend and she was doing some message mining for her own program and asking me questions. And I just remember keep saying like, I don't know what I need to learn. But I know that I've tried everything I can on my own and I'm getting stuck and I don't even know what to do next.

And I think, you know, it's not that there was a lack of courses and programs and all of these things. It's almost like information overload. Where I, I didn't know who to trust, and I didn't know what to try, and so I was just kind of frozen. And it took that friend, you know, after we got done with the message finding call, we talked and she was telling me about the program she was in and what a difference it was making and just a couple of the things that she was doing in the program that I had never heard of before.

And I was like, you know what? That might actually be. What I need, and that was when I decided to invest in coaching. And so that's been my journey. And since I invested in that coaching, that is, I guarantee you one of the number one reasons why I was able to go full time with Thrive a couple of years ago, because before that I had clients for marketing and graphic design, which my background is in.

I loved that, but I wanted to do Thrive full time. I wanted to talk about blogging and social media with you guys for my full time job. And so I was finally able to do that. So the question kind of is, you know, well, when do you know when you should stop relying on YouTube university? So for me, it was like, I was.

Feeling like I was trying all of the things and I was really tired of having to make decisions for myself. Do you guys ever feel like this? Like sometimes when I get really overloaded, I'm like, can somebody just tell me what to do? Can somebody please just tell me what to do? And so that is something that I really help the gals inside of shift with and a little bit inside of profitable blogger society, but really inside shift with just like, okay, let.

You don't have to make all the decisions by yourself. Let me help you. Let me take some of that load off and go through your business together and walk alongside you and help you make decisions that you feel empowered by and feel excited about, because that's one thing about entrepreneurship is doing it by yourself.

Growing a blog by yourself, growing social media by yourself is tiring. So that was one thing is if you've felt like that, if you're not sure where to spend your time next, or if you're feeling low on time, that's when I kind of think, all right, maybe it's maybe it's time to just take that next step just to do the next thing.

And so That's that's where I was and I just wanted to share a little bit of my story with you guys So that way you can you know, hopefully it will help somebody out there in taking that next step I wish like I said, it wasn't until that friend sat down and chatted with me and was asking me those questions That truly made a difference for me to be like, you know what?

I do think I need to Get some guidance. And I do think this is where I want to go. And it was scary. I did not have the money to pay for that program, but I knew, you know, I really hate the phrase, you gotta spend money to make money. And it's like, that's easier said than done. Sometimes when you're just in a weird place financially, and I was, I really was, I had the money, but it wasn't, it wasn't an easy decision.

I'll leave it at that. Again, buy me another drink. Wow, that's chat too. But I, I get it. I just want you guys to know that I get it. And I was in a weird spot financially, but in that instance, for me, it was true that when I did spend the money, I made it up. And I hustled. That's another thing that happens too is when you do decide to invest in something, you're going to show up differently.

I showed up differently. I hustled. I got feedback. I did all the work. I put in the work, put in the hours, put in the time. Sometimes it was a lot. Sometimes it was a little. I made those shifts and made those suggestions that they taught me. And I just showed up differently in my business when there was a little bit more skin in the game and it can be a 37 program.

It can be a 500 program. Like it doesn't necessarily matter how much money it is. That's why, you know, Um, sometimes low ticket offers, like if you're thinking about selling digital products, sometimes low price digital offers even like help people have a little bit more skin in the game and help them to get something done rather than you just giving it away for them for free.

But anyways, that's another conversation for another day. I will leave you with this, that if you are thinking you need to invest a little bit. Let's chat. If you're feeling a little stuck, you don't know what to invest in. Let's chat. I might have a solution. I might have a friend that has a solution either way.

We got you covered. You guys have a great rest of your day. Talk to you soon.
