Welcome back you guys. Today we're talking about how do we make our content work across multiple platforms and have success, so why do we even repurpose content? Here's the thing, time and time again, what I see and what I coach on. I could talk about this probably every single week, and it doesn't matter if you're inside, which of whichever of our group coaching programs, somebody is going to raise their hand and say, yes, I created a piece of content.

I shared it one time, and then that was it. Where content creators dropped the ball is creating it and only sharing it one time. Then basing whether or not it was successful on that one share. How like that is When you, when I say it out loud like that, do you realize like, oh. That's kind of not good, right?

Imagine all the content that you have just dropped that you were excited about and proud of. You were so excited about the way you edited it, or got the photos or wrote that paragraph and you push it out there, and then you didn't give it another glance after you determined if it was a success or a failure based on that one push.

Ugh. Breaks my heart. Right? So let's talk about the key to successful content and crossposting on multiple platforms, because we need to, and we're gonna talk about how to add it back into our calendar, right? To share it again. Okay. So tailoring content to platform algorithms and audience expectations, this is going to really have a huge difference in your bottom line in whether it is.

Quote unquote successful. Okay. Because a casual funny reel might land on Instagram, but it would flop on YouTube shorts, maybe. Maybe you write this really amazing long form blog post, and it does great for SEO and drives traffic, but it would read as really boring if you shared it verbatim to your Instagram stories, right?

You can't just copy and paste content from one platform to another, and you guys met. Tries to get us to do this, right? Like I just saw the other day where they're like, you can now push it out. Your one piece of content to threads Facebook and Instagram all at the same time. It's. Great. But if you've been on multiple of those platforms, you know that they all operate very differently.

They have different algorithms and what performs better on one doesn't necessarily perform the best on another. So if you were to create a real and push it out over on threads. It might not do well. What is doing great over on Threads right now is conversation starters, is getting people involved and chatting with you and having really great prompts and having really great things that you're saying over there that are getting people to have conversation with you.

That's what's working really, really good on threads right now. That's not necessarily working over on Instagram. Sometimes we can get a reel to do well and get people to comment and that's always exciting, but it's not always the case. And so you are tailoring your content for different platforms. Now that's not to say that you can't take that one idea and push it on different platforms.

That's what we wanna do because that is what is going to save us time, save us from burning out, is taking that one piece of content. So. Pick your main platform. It doesn't matter if you are fully in on Instagram, if you're fully in on TikTok or your blog, whichever platform it may be. Pick that piece of content and then consider how can I make this adapt really well on my second best platform?

So if you create a long form piece of content, let's say for YouTube or for your blog. And then you're like, how can I adapt this for some short form video that is going to perform really well? Maybe it's behind the scenes. Maybe it's a listicle that shares really fun and well and engaging in a short form video.

Something creative, right? You have to adapt it then. Okay, cool. Now how can I share this message also in an email? How could I share pieces of this in different multiple thread posts? So you're able to take that one piece of content and you're going to use it across multiple platforms. That is how we have multi-platform mastery and are able to share our voice in multiple places and grow by taking that one idea.

Spending a little bit extra time to get it out there more. Why are you creating a reel that takes you a couple hours to edit and film and get it all ready to go, and then only pushing it out in that one spot? Why aren't you making a blog post out of that? Why aren't you making a YouTube video? Why aren't you sharing that in an email?

I would challenge that. Part of it is that we are on this content creation hamster wheel and it's like, well, I gotta do the next one. I gotta do the next one. I gotta do the next one. But if we stay in that mode of constantly having to create and having to go, go, go, and we don't allow ourselves the time to spend a little bit extra time on that one piece of content and make it go further, we're doing ourselves a huge disservice and we're not.

Being strategic with thinking long-term brand growth. So start with your main piece or your main theme, build it out to your branches and identify how you're going to share it to each one. Then full circle. Let's go back. We're going to add it back into your calendar to share again in the future. No more one and done.

Posting a reel and being done posting the blog post only sharing it one time and being done. No, we're going to add it back into our calendar. Maybe it's a month down the road, maybe it's three, maybe it's a seasonal piece of content, and so we're gonna share it again next year. We want to make sure we are taking that piece of content that we spent so much time on and share it again and again, and let's keep cranking it out.
