[00:00:57] Today I want to talk to you guys about something that I think is really overlooked when it comes to growing your brand and that is mindset. It is constant on social media where I am seeing awesome reels about how to create content faster, how to grow, how monetize, all of these things, giving inspiration for.

[00:01:26] Too many ideas, frankly, at this point. I know you know what I mean. Where it's like, oh man, I'm a little overwhelmed because I want to do so many things and I already have a lot of things on my plate, but how do we continue to grow? I think the biggest growth tip that I can share with you is this episode where we're going to talk about different things to help you.

[00:01:57] your mindset. And you may think, well Bree, I want like some tactical things. Tell me exactly what to post, when to post, the keywords to use, everything. So that way I see growth. And we have lots of episodes on tactical information like that. But the thing is, if we do not have Things in place to protect us from burning out to help us when we're tired to help us when we feel like Burning it out to the ground or wondering why we're doing this, or even just feeling overwhelmed and maybe you are just like, I freaking love what I do, but I am tired.

[00:02:42] That's me a lot. And the thing that helps so much is doing different activities to really help with mindset. And sometimes we can't do it on our own. I do a lot of mindset work with people that are inside of our coaching programs, specifically shift. It's definitely come up inside the profitable blogger society as well.

[00:03:11] Just actually on our last office hours call, I was like, Ooh, that's, that's a mindset stuff. Let's talk about it. Just different things where we're getting in our own way, or we have these limiting beliefs. Right. Of like, well, I can only do this or I can only do it this way. And oftentimes we're getting in our own way.

[00:03:34] So sometimes it's things that we can work through on our own and I'm going to share some tools and different things that you guys can try. Sometimes we need somebody to coach us through that. I'm currently in a season where I need somebody to coach me through this. I'm recording this a little bit early.

[00:03:50] So tomorrow is World Mental Health Day. And I find it so ironic that a couple of weeks ago, I scheduled an appointment with my therapist for world mental health day. And I didn't know that was the day. And I was like, Oh, well, this was just everything aligning in the universe. I hadn't seen my therapist since May.

[00:04:11] So I'm really excited to chat with her. But the reason why I booked this appointment was mindset with work. I don't want to talk about. Anything else? The topics are vast, but I specifically booked this appointment because I am going into a retreat this weekend, and I know that I have some limiting beliefs that I need to work through in order for me to be able to take my business to the next level.

[00:04:42] And let's just think about that for a second. There are so many strategies and so many different things that we can do and try and implement in our business. Even though I know all of those and I can learn new ones, the thing that I know at my core that is stopping me from going to the next level is I don't know.

[00:05:07] limiting beliefs, and that all has to do with mindset. So let's talk about it. We want to shift from hustle to strategy, from scarcity to abundance, from perfection to progress. So let's talk about all of these. If you are feeling like, Oh yeah, I'm definitely in that hustle mode. And I need to switch to being more strategic.

[00:05:32] There's different things that we need to do to just have a strategy first mindset and You guys, that is something that was huge for me to learn, is I can easily jump on the content creation hamster wheel. You guys know I love batching and I can crank out things with the best of them. That is a superpower of mine.

[00:05:59] I am really good at creating a lot of content in a very short period of time. However, if I do not slow down and force myself to do strategy first and not just keep going, going, going, I risk burning out. I also risk, um, do you guys do this? I risk creating a lot of content that nobody else actually ends up seeing because I talk myself out of it.

[00:06:31] And that is why we have to be strategic. You can create less content and see better results than if you were to hustle and create double or triple the content. Now, If you want to create a lot of content, go for it, but you have to have a lot of strategy that goes into it. And most of us are really limited on time.

[00:06:57] Most of us have so many other things on our plate for work, for life, for whatever it may be that we don't necessarily have the capacity to crank out a huge volume of content constantly. So we have to be strategic with what we're doing. And that comes down to A little bit of a mindset shift. Maybe you're in this mode.

[00:07:19] I've coached so many girls inside of shift where they're like, okay, well I post X, Y, and Z days. I have this many pieces of content that go out. I have this many blog posts. I have this many emails. It is a large volume and they're feeling burnt out. They're feeling like things aren't performing. And what I've had to coach them through is like, Woo.

[00:07:41] We need to slow down a little bit because if things aren't performing, then why are we just continuing to crank things out? So if that's you and you're like Bri, I release a new reel on these days, I do a new YouTube video. I do a new blog. I do emails two days a week. Something is missing. Something is falling short because it is not reaching my audience.

[00:08:07] Social media tells us that the more that we create, the better the results are going to be. And so, there have been multiple people that I have followed that are like posting three times a day, doing all of this stuff. It's working for them in a particular way. However, it is not sustainable for the average person, nor is it necessarily the best strategy.

[00:08:32] I don't know about you, but I would rather create less content. That gets more results than double or triple the amount of content, right? I would rather create one post that lands really well with my audience, gets me the results that I am wanting, rather than doing three posts that give me the same results.

[00:08:58] That's what we need to do from switching to a hustle to a strategy mindset. So if you are feeling like you are just going, going, going, and you can't catch your breath, I want you to just slow down for a second and reevaluate What's going on? When was the last time you did a survey with your audience?

[00:09:22] When was the last time you did message mining? When was the last time that you really sat down and planned out a long term strategy rather than just what you were going to do this week or next? That is something that is the key. That's a huge thing for mindset, right? Because if that's you, you're like, Ooh, that sounds great, but I don't know that I can do that.

[00:09:43] Mindset. Okay. So then what about shifting from scarcity to abundance? Do you feel like, ah, maybe there's not enough room for me or opportunities are scarce or brands are working with so many other creatives. They're not going to work with me because they don't have the budget. That is another mindset thing.

[00:11:25] So let's do this thrive together. blog slash shift.

[00:11:33] I'm not a super emotional person, but there is something about musicals that always gets me. So I'm a huge fan of Hamilton. I have watched the Disney version many, many a times, have the whole thing memorized, have seen it live in person, and every time it gets to the part at the very end.

[00:12:02] Where Burr says that he wishes he would have realized sooner that there was room enough for both of them right at the end after Alexander Hamilton dies. That's what Burr says. There was room enough for both of us. And every time I get to that part in the musical, I just break down and cry because my, I don't know.

[00:12:31] I have this like fix it mentality and mama bear mentality that has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. And I'm just like, Oh, I wish somebody could have caught them that before this tragedy and showed them that there is plenty of room. There's so much room. This world is massive. There is such a vast amount of abundance out there, but we often get sucked in.

[00:13:07] To social media, to our little tiny world, because when you think about it, our world, oh, that is, that is, here's another thing. And hopefully one of these stories is resonating with you and just helping you realize how abundant opportunities are out there. One of the most life changing moments for me in my life was when my husband and I were traveling and we went to Yellowstone.

[00:13:37] And there was. It's a star gazing or star watching excursion one night. And we drove and drove and drove out into the middle of the park. It was so dark and we get out and we walk over to where everybody is standing. They had a telescope and everything, but they couldn't get it to work. And this is where my mind was just blown.

[00:14:02] I did not know that I could stand there in the pitch black and look up at the sky without a telescope and see the Milky Way with my naked eye. And that moment was I will never forget it. It was a life changing experience for me and one that I hope to repeat in the future and bring my daughter to. But it just reminded me of just how small we really are and not in a bad way because I, you guys know, I think you are freaking brilliant and amazing, but just how small we actually are on this tiny planet and how big the world actually is.

[00:14:46] And when we think about that, And change our mindset from this scarcity mode of there's not enough people to follow me. There's not enough, you know, they're following so many others. There is not enough brands out there in my niche. When we switch from that mindset to just a, it's a, it's a slight tweak.

[00:15:12] Of that there is plenty out there for me and realize that maybe we are thinking of things in that scarcity mode. And switch to thinking of, you know what? There is tons and tons of opportunities out there for me. There's so many podcasts that I could go and be on and get my voice out there in front of audiences that nobody else is hearing about.

[00:15:37] There are. Thousands upon thousands of brands, and there, I don't need thousands upon thousands, right? When you think about what you actually need, do you need thousands of brands to work with? Or would 50 be a game changer for you? Would 10, this next year, 2025, change the game for you? 10? Let's say 12, let's say one a month.

[00:16:06] That's only 12 brands. If you could sign 12 brand deals at a minimum of 5, 000 a month, would that change the game for you? That's out there. 12 is doable. 1200 is a lot. It's not not doable, but do you actually need that? No. So when we think, what do I actually need? It's not actually a huge amount. That is undoable.

[00:16:37] There is enough out there for you. It's a mindset shift. So then shifting from perfection to progress. There is a client of mine. I probably mentioned this on a podcast years ago. He drives me crazy. He drives me crazy. But one thing that has always stuck with me because he repeated it every freaking day is 1 percent better every day.

[00:17:13] That's all you had to focus on was 1 percent better every day. So he was this, he was this health and fitness guru. So if that meant that like today you got out and went for a walk or you made a healthy choice or whatever it may be 1 percent better every day and how that compounds and how that adds up.

[00:17:36] And when we think about that in terms of our content, in terms of our brand, Often, and I'm going to keep blending social media because I do feel like a lot of this is brought to the forefront of our mind because we are on so many social media platforms and just inundated with this information, but you are constantly feeling like I need to grow more.

[00:17:59] I need to grow faster. Why am I not growing as fast as everyone else? They have 10, 000 followers. Why can't I get there? They have 50, 000 followers. How on earth am I going to get there? When we lean into that mindset of, I have to be perfect. I have to get everything right. That is the only way I am going to make progress and get there.

[00:18:24] We're just sabotaging ourselves. When you start to think of things in the long term, your goal with your brand is not to create a viral brand that lasts for six months to a year. I don't think. If it is, I'm probably not the person for you. I'm probably not the podcast for you. I'm talking to you. The bad ass business women who are wanting to grow a brand that has legs that is going to give them an amazing retirement that is going to last them for years to come.

[00:19:02] So why are we rushing things? If you want a brand that lasts for 5, years, why do you feel like you need to do everything in this first year? In this first year, you may be on year five. You may be on year 10 listening to this, but why do you feel like you have to do everything in 12 months? The reality is that we can't without burning out.

[00:19:28] We can't do everything right now. We have to. Allow for progress to happen and allow for us to take steps over a long period of time because the reality is we always have this list of things that we have to do to maintain, right? That is the case for every single one of us. We have these things that are required for us to maintain where we are at.

[00:19:58] And then we have things that can help us grow. We can't offset that balance to where we're only doing things to grow, grow, grow, grow, grow and barely maintaining because we will burn out. So instead, we need to make sure that we have a strong foundation of maintenance and then do one or two tests at a time that are going to help us grow.

[00:20:23] So maybe that's one thing that you're focusing on. Maybe that is focusing on recording differently. Maybe that is focusing on learning how to do better keywords. Maybe it's focusing on brand collaborations and outreach. It doesn't have to be that you are focusing on 5 to 10 growth tactics at one time, because that is where we burn out.

[00:20:50] So that is that mindset shift to switch from feeling like everything has to be perfect. I have to be able to do all of these things. I have to do them all well. I'm going to take one step today. I'm going to take one step this week or this month, and I'm going to make progress and I'm going to get there, but I'm not going to burn myself out in the process to where I am hating what I am doing and I don't want to do this long term.

[00:21:19] I saw somebody talk about that on threads the other day about what their, maybe what their backup plan was, or if they stopped doing this, what they would do. And I saw one content creator say that, you know, I don't know that I can do this long term and I might just, you know, go get a nine to five after a few years.

[00:21:37] If that's really what your goal is, amazing. Cool. Love that for you. But I think a lot of you listening would love to do this long term, but not if you're so burned out to where you're like done at the end of the day or at the end of the year, you're like, this is exhausting. I am done. And that is when we have that issue of everything has to be perfect.

[00:21:57] I always have to be growing. I always have to be X, Y, and Z. We need to have Small actions that lead to big wins over a long period of time. So if any of this resonates with you, I'm sending you the biggest hug because I'm a hugger. I think you're amazing, but I think it's time to implement some things to help with your mindset.

[00:22:24] So some quick tools for things that I like to do. Journaling. You guys know I love journaling. Meditation apps I think are amazing. There's tools like Calm or Headspace I like to use. I have a Peloton, so I like to use my Peloton app for that. There's affirmation apps. I love the I Am Affirmation app. I have it and it pops up and gives me notifications every day using a goal setting and task management tool like Trello or Asana or Notion.

[00:22:56] And. reading books and listening to podcasts like this that are going to help with your mindset. And then the last thing is mentorship, coaching, accountability groups. Those are all different things that can really, really help you have long term growth. I would love to talk to you about that because I have two programs.

The Power of Mindset: From Hustle to Strategy

One of the most overlooked elements in brand growth is mindset. While social media is full of tips on content creation and monetization, it's crucial to focus on mindset to avoid burnout and ensure sustainable growth.

Many creators believe that hustling and constant content output will guarantee success. However, without a strategic approach, this can lead to burnout. When you prioritize a strategy-first mindset by creating focused, high-quality content that resonates more effectively with your audience than endless, scattershot efforts, you'll see the growth you've been dreaming of.

Scarcity vs. Abundance: Re-aligning Your Perspective

An abundant mindset is key, because it's easy to fall into scarcity thinking, believing there’s not enough room for you. However, shifting to an abundant mindset reveals infinite possibilities for collaborations and brand partnerships.

Progress Over Perfection: The Journey to Sustainable Growth

Let’s ditch perfectionism and embrace the idea of getting 1% better every day. The influencer space is daunting, with constant pressure for growth or being the best. Instead of burning out, focus on gradual improvement and maintaining balance in content creation, which will create longevity in your brand’s success.

Practical Tools and Techniques for Mindset Development

While mindset plays such a key role, it's also important to understand what tools and practices can help you maintain an abundant mindset. From meditation apps like Calm, Headspace, or Pelaton to affirmation apps like I Am, giving yourself the headspace for a mindset shift is so powerful.

Additionally, staying organized to streamline your process with tools like Trello, Asana, or Notion will keep you on track.

Lastly, consider mentorship, coaching, or joining accountability groups to encourage consistent growth.
